On Eating Healthy

I love food.  I love the way it tastes, it's textures, and feeling full.  So changing my diet to a strictly healthy one was a little difficult for me, but i'm slowly finding more and more things that taste amazing, and are very basic but healthy foods.  This is what i had for lunch today, and I absoluteley loved it.

I made something similar to a fajita with romaine lettuce, buffalo chicken breast (bnls/sknls), Tomato, and mozzeralla.  Maybe it was the lack of all the foods i crave that made this really taste awesome, or it just does.  Very little Carbs and fats, awesome lunch.  To drink, I brewed a pitcher of Twinnings Herbal Revive, and iced it.  This stuff tastes pretty good too, it's very blackberry/vanilla.  Overall an extremely healthy lunch.

Breakfast was a little different, Had a loaded omelette with peppers, onions, tomato, cheese, and the kicker:  Pork Tenderloin (very small portion).  Very tasty, somewhat unhealthy, but i've been doing awesome so far.  12lbs in 5 days?  Personally didn't think it was possible but i'm keeping up with my diet and excercise very strictly aside from the omelette.  as the side says, only 46lbs to go, so i'll keep pushing until I'm there.

Walk 1 Run 3

I just got in from my run tonight, and saw a few things out of the ordinary.  A buck and a doe were drinking from a small pond i walked by on my route, and about 4 or 5 foxes ran across the road right infront of me.  Usually i don't see any wildlife but this was a nice change of pace.  Good to know we haven't driven them out of their habitat just yet.

The workout that I did has a pretty self-descriptive name.  There is a stretch of road that spans 4 miles with evenly spaced telephone poles on my route.  When i get to them, I walk from one to another, and then run as fast as I can past three.  Then the cycle repeats until I've covered the stretch.  This is a VERY productive work out, especially at the end of the day.  Tomorrow I'm doing upper body at the gym and giving the running a rest until the next day.

It started to rain right when i hit the halfway point :P  This weather has been really bad lately, but it's a little refreshing from all the humidity.

Fine

Workout was just fine :D

Don't know why I thought it would be so bad but it ended up being just fine, if not better than usual.  I'm sure if i neglected sleep for a few weeks it would start to show up in my work out, but one day here and there doesn't do too much damage.  At any rate, 1/5th of my weight is dropped!

Due to my strict diet and daily/nightly exercise routine, I've lost 10lbs of body fat in 4 days.  To anyone who thinks this to be close to impossible to acheive (as i thought before hand), it is extremely easy to do if you have self discipline and a goal to reach.  This is what i've been doing so far.

Diet:  Water, Bonless/Skinless Chicken Breast, Eggs, Tomato, Small Servings of Cheese, Lunchmeat (no bread), and Beef (Steak, Ground, Etc.)  My portions are fairly small, and the meals are about 4 hours apart.  I usually have 3 to 4 meals a day and have half a banana mid afternoon.  I'm adding tuna to the diet in a week.

Exercise: Running 2 miles a day, walking for 4.  Weight Lifting + Freeweights.  Pushups, Sit ups, and Flutter kicks.  Then at the end of the day I run an extra mile.  I'll be increasing the number of everything I do as time goes on, but there's a great deal of stretching.  If i'm not exercising, eating, working, or sleeping, i'm stretching.

Everyone is different, this is just what is working for me.  But the main point is if you're serious about losing the weight, you need to prove it.  Cut out every liquid but water, and seriously go over your diet cutting out snacks, night time eating, and size portions out as small as you can get them.  Don't starve yourself, but eat only the amount so you aren't hungry anymore.  If your hungry at first between meals, that is totally normal.  You're used to eating more and your stomach isn't full.  Great thing about it is it will go away in a week or two as your stomach shrinks.  Hope this helps someone out, as I never thought I could lose this much this quick.

For the record I started at 243lbs, and a decent amount of that is body fat.  I'm down to 232 and counting after 4 days.

It's morning

Ok, just a quick thought before going to bed.  It's 1:35 in the morning and I have yet to fall asleep, I'm usually in bed by about 11 or 10:30.  That gives me a good 6 or 7 hours before heading to the gym early in the AM.  I had a cup of coffee around 8:50pm and nothing else, overall a bad decision.  I'll post after my workout this morning for an update, but it's not going to be pretty.

Never under-estimate the power of a good night's rest.
